Jesse Harwood

Hello! I am a member of the Class of 2025 at The Harpeth Hall School in Nashville, TN. This page is dedicated to the artworks I have created during my time at Harpeth Hall and highlights my AP Studio Art and Design Portfolio. Read more about my portfolio below!

My Portfolio

Nature, providing life sustaining resources for mankind, also offers limitless inspiration and wisdom. In my investigation, I aim to explore the relationship between nature and humans to bring awareness to the importance of this connection.

Throughout my portfolio, I have explored different forms of printmaking and even painting to find which medium best reflects my ideas. For the majority of my prints, a ghost print is also created with the leftover materials, which offers me the opportunity to experiment with other mediums on top of my prints. Revision can be found in my piece entitled “Star Girls”; after being unsatisfied with the print, I revised it with gouache overtop.

From my personal collection, the akua ink monotypes I created during my freshman year offered inspiration to return to the medium. However, rather than simply printing in black and white, I decided to start printing with colored inks. I learned that although the black and white prints are interesting, using colored inks are much more fun and reflect my guiding questions better.
